William Sethares

Music theorist, electrical and computer engineer, and professor at the College of Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Bill is also the author of Tuning, Timbre, Spectrum, Scale, a groundbreaking book that includes a theory on the origins of Indonesian tuning systems.

Brian Baumbusch & Keenan Pepper

Brian is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, teacher, instrument builder, and founder of the Lightbulb Ensemble.

Keenan is a software engineer, physicist, expert in alternative tuning systems, and performer in Gamelan Sekar Jaya and Gamelan X.

Daniel Yasmin

Daniel is a drummer, instrument builder, and teacher whose explorations of machine technology and metalworking and have led to the creation of unique instruments and sound sculptures.

Paul Dresher & Daniel Schmidt

Paul’s many projects and collaborations have spanned experimental theater, contemporary opera, acoustic and electronic chamber music, orchestra, dance scores, and musical instrument invention. 

Daniel Schmidt has worked in instrument design and building, electronic music, mixed media, theater, and composition for traditional (Javanese) and American Gamelan, in which he has been a key figure for several decades.
